Preparing new Schaltkreis live performance
Currently staying in Ibiza and preparing my new live performance of Schaltkreis Wassermann. Last year when Private Records, Berlin, re-released our classic PSYCHOTRON album on vinyl I did an extended DJ gig with old Schaltkreis material (a lot of it unreleased) – not just playing the tracks but tweaking and intertwining them live. Supported by Asteriza’s visuals. Now for the upcoming gig in Antwerpen on Oct. 24th 2103 I have a lot of new tracks that I’ve been working on for the upcoming new Schaltkreis album. I’ll have two or three analog synths with me and will tweak the tracks live. This I’m setting up and rehearsing right now, something between retro-futuristic and minimal synth. Looking for a music management
From 1980 to nearly 2000 I was a professional musician with my own electronic production studio (that was a rarity at that time). I regularly released records (Schaltkreis Wassermann) and had some hits (Matterhorn Project) but most of the money I made came from making music in the realms of movie and video soundtracks, jingles and radio advertisements.
In the late 90ies I got tired of investing my musical passion into contract work and I started doing software jobs. After a couple of years I specialized into developing databases with FilemakerPro which I still do today. I like the intellectual challenge of writing software and I appreciate that I mostly have to use my brain and not so much of my heart for earning my living.
I’ve always continued to make my own music, now freed from commercial restrictions (my own chillout solo albums, producing two solo albums for my wife Stella Wassermann, developing my live psyTrance project Eternal Bliss and producing other artists). In the last couple of years the wish to spend more time as a musician again has become stronger. I don’t want to abandon my software jobs but I want to be touring with my live projects from time to time and make my recorded music known on a larger scale.
Currently I have a new psyChill album nearly finished that will be released under my name of PJ Wassermann. I have a couple of new electronica tracks that will become a new album of Schaltkreis Wassermann, maybe even a double album with all the Schaltkreis material that I have made for my concerts with Stella in 2009 and 2010 before she tragically died in 2011. I also have a new ambient album ready.
To release all this music and to manage my live gigs I need professional help. With my daytime jobs I just have time left for making my music. I can’t search for a label, promote the recordings and do bookings – I just don’t have the time. Re-Release von Schaltkreis Wassermann – Psychotron auf Vinyl bei Private Records, berlin
Zum 30. Geburtstag des Vinyl-Albums Psychotron von Schaltkreis Wassermann veröffentlicht das Berliner Label Private Records eine Sammler-Edition der Kultplatte von 1982. Zu diesem Anlass habe ich das Album von den Original-Analogbändern neu gemastert, erstaunlich wie gut die Tracks klingen!
Am 2. Juni 2012 gibt es eine Re-Release-Party im Sameheads-Club in Berlin. Ich werde dort meine Lieblingsmusik aus den frühen 80ern auflegen, meine Premiere als „DJ PJ“! Asteriza wird spezielle Visuals beisteuern.

Schon sind es 30 Jahre her, seit Stella und ich unter dem Namen Schaltkreis Wassermann das Album Psychotron veröffentlicht haben. Und langsam kommt diese Platte wieder zurück ins öffentliche Bewusstsein: bei Private Records in Berlin ist eine Vinyl-Neuauflage in Vorbereitung, das italienische OPILEC-Label hat einen Remix veröffentlicht und jetzt habe ich gerade per Post die Nummer 71 der äusserst originellen Zeitschrift Das dosierte Leben erhalten, und darin steht eine Reh-Zension der CD Psychotron, die im Gegensatz zum Vinyl vier Bonus-Tracks enthält.

Let’s Go into Space – Compilation with „Space Shuttle“ by Schaltkreis Wassermann
„Space Shuttle“ by Schaltkreis Wassermann has been released on the compilation „Let’s Go into Space“ by Berlin underground label Private Records. Here’s the label’s info:
The new “private” release is a compilation of scarce and sought after tracks which previously have only been released on 7” somewhere in the late 70’s and early 80’s. A cosmic journey into early techno and modern club music prototypes.
The coverartwork makes this release especially interesting for collectors due to the fact it is an artprint of a high valuable artwork called “Space Lucy” by Pop and Space Art legend Charles Wilp (the last reprint costed 3000 € at the Epson online shop). This release was supported by the german aerospace agency: Deutsches Zentrum Für Luft- und Raumfahrt “DLR”. Enjoy!!!

Schaltkreis-Remix auf Opilec-Compilation
Das italienische Label Opilec hat eine 2-disc Compilation namens “We are Opilec” veröffentlicht. Sie enthält den Schaltkreis Wassermann Remix “Gogo-Danger” von Gianluca Pandullo, der als Basis die beiden Original-Tracks “GoGoGo” and “Danger out of Space” vom Kult-Album PSYCHOTRON benützt. Weitere Remixes sind geplant.

Stella Wassermann – danke für die Reaktionen
Die Reaktionen auf Stella Wassermanns Uebergang in die geistige Welt waren überwältigend: Briefe, Mails, Telefonate und Blumen. Viele haben an ihre persönlichen Begegnungen mit dieser charmanten, humorvollen und faszinierenden Persönlichkeit erinnert, mit der ich so viele Jahre verbringen durfte, viele haben mir ihre tröstlichen Gedanken mitgeteilt, und einige haben mir von ihren bewegenden persönlichen Schicksalen berichtet, die so grosse Ähnlichkeit mit meinem aufweisen. Herzlichen Dank an Alle!
Auch einige Medien und Organisationen haben Nachrufe auf Stella veröffentlicht, die als Schweizer Musikerin und Pionierin der elektronischen Musik viele junge Leute beeindruckt hat, wie wir in Gesprächen immer wieder erfahren haben. In der Öffentlichkeit sind vor allem die frühen Erfolge mit Schaltkreis Wassermann und Matterhorn Project haften geblieben, während Stellas spätere Solo-Alben The Palace of Yin und L’Ame de la Lune bei manchen Menschen tiefe und vielfach heilende Eindrücke hinterlassen haben.

Spaced Out Again – Schaltkreis Wassermann an GOASYS II
Woahh, das war ein geiles Konzert bei der zweiten Goasys im Nordstern Basel, ein richtiger Hexenkessel. Die Live-Drums von Pierre gaben nochmals zusätzlichen Schub, dazu wunderbare psychedelische Deko und endlich einmal ein richtiger Beamer für unsere Visuals. Die Trancers flippten aus und alle hatten einen Riesenspass bei dieser Bombenstimmung.
